ESPN College GameDay is going to Miami for the first time since 2001 for the Hurricanes' huge Week 11 game vs. Notre Dame.

The last time GameDay broadcasted from Miami — or Coral Gables — was Nov. 17, 2001, when the Hurricanes hosted, and obliterated, Syracuse. Miami has been featured on GameDay eight times since then, including most recently in 2013 at Florida State, but the 'Canes have never hosted.
Here is the matchup, history and guest picker prediction for College GameDay in Week 11.

History
The fourth-ever traveling GameDay show visited Miami in 1997, the first of five times the school hosted ESPN's flagship college football pregame show. And while the area has hosted GameDay numerous times since the 'Canes last appearance in 2001, it has been for non-Miami games, including most recently the 2015 Orange Bowl (Clemson vs. Oklahoma).
As mentioned above, this is Miami's first GameDay appearance since a 2013 loss at Florida State, while this is Notre Dame's first appearance since 2015, when the Irish were featured twice, both as road teams (at Clemson, at Temple).
It will be the first all-time GameDay matchup between Miami and Notre Dame. The Irish are 12-15 in 27 appearances, and Miami is 12-5 in 17 appearances.

Guest Picker Prediction
Because ESPN has never invited a guest picker to a show broadcasted from Miami, the options are wide open, though there are a few names that seem more likely than others.
Here are a few guesses:
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
The Rock has to be the overwhelming choice to be GameDay guest picker. If his schedule allows for it, the former Miami linebacker and wrestling star and current jack-of-all-trades actor would be a fantastic and obvious choice to join the set.

Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester Stallone attended Miami but did not graduate and though his Hollywood popularity sharply rises and plummets annually, he's still a popular, well-known actor who would have mass appeal.

Vince Wilfork
While Vince Wilfork isn't as prominent of a Miami alum as Warren Sapp, Michael Irvin, Willis McGahee or others, he'd be the most entertaining option. And with temperatures expected to be in the mid-70s around show time, we can only pray he'd wear nothing but overalls.
