History
College GameDay began their traveling show in 1993 but they didn't feature an FCS school until 2002 when they went to Penn vs. Harvard. But since then, including this week, they've now done eight FCS games, most recently also visiting James Madison (vs. Richmond) in 2015.
This will be Villanova's first-ever GameDay appearance.

Guest Picker Predictions
ESPN did not tap someone with James Madison or Virginia ties last time they were in Harrisonburg, instead inviting Arizona native and Vanderbilt alum Dierks Bentley to the stage.
If they pick someone with a stronger relationship to the school, area or state, here are some possibilities.

Dell Curry
With a lack of well-known alums with mass appeal, ESPN could opt for a Harrisonburg native like Dell Curry. Born in Harrisonburg, Curry played high school basketball at nearby Fort Defiance High School before starring at Virginia Tech and in the NBA.
Ralph Sampson
Another Virginia native, Ralph Sampson was raised in Harrisonburg and dominated for Harrisonburg High School in the late 1970's. The three-time National Player of the Year at Virginia and four-time NBA All-Star was an assistant basketball coach at James Madison for one year (1992-93).
Phil Vassar
One of the few recognizable James Madison alums, Phil Vassar is also a Virginia native and began crafting his music career in college. He's not a big-time country star but has some hits and could be a semi-popular pick.
