Florida Atlantic went undefeated in Conference USA in 2017. According to Bovada, expect more of the same from the Owls as the Lane Train comes barreling through in 2018.
Kiffin and the Owls dominated conference play last year, pummeling opponents by an average of 22.3 points and winning seven of their eight games by at least double digits.

FAU comes into this season with new coordinators on both sides of the ball, but returns with arguably the most dominant playmaker in the Group of Five. Devin Singletary amassed over 2,000 yards from scrimmage last season and will be the focal point of the offense once again. If FAU can find stability at the quarterback position, they may be able to repeat if not improve upon its success from 2017.

On the defensive side of the ball, FAU will lean on a secondary that forced 20 interceptions in 2017. Senior safety Jalen Young nabbed seven, tied for second nationally.
The only team to get close to the Owls last year was Marshall. The Thundering Herd return 18 of their 22 starters in 2018. Nine on offense and nine from a defensive unit that was very effective in their eight wins last season. The Herd's strength is their offensive line, with all five returning in 2018. Tyre Brady will provide an offensive punch on the outside. Last year he caught eight touchdown passes. Much like FAU, however, they were forced to find new coordinators and a signal-caller.
Marshall represents the main contender to topple FAU, and that is reflected in the odds for FAU to win the conference for a second straight year.
