Aiden Fisher NFL Draft Projection & Profile: Will The Indiana LB Hear His Name Called?

Aiden Fisher had just one FBS scholarship offer coming out of high school. Now he’s a two-time first-team All-Big Ten pick, a national champion, and one of the most productive linebackers in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Fisher earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors in his second season at James Madison. He was one of Indiana’s top tacklers in each of the past two seasons, and he recorded a sack in the Hoosiers’ win over Miami in the national championship.

Fisher doesn’t possess ideal size to be an NFL linebacker, but his nose for the ball can’t be denied. He finished his college career with 328 tackles in 51 games, and he proved he can compete at college football’s highest level. His grit and football IQ were enough to make him a late-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Where Did Aiden Fisher Go In The NFL Draft?

Fisher went to the Houston Texans with the 243rd overall pick, in the seventh round, in the NFL Draft.

Aiden Fisher’s 40 Time & Pro Day Results

Fisher ran the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds at Indiana’s Pro Day. He checked in at 6-foot-1 and 232 pounds.

Fisher was invited to the NFL Combine and took part in position-specific drills and interviews, but he did not take part in any of the athletic testing events.

Aiden Fisher’s Stats & Highlights

Fisher proved to be a tackling machine in his three seasons as a starter for Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti, dating back to their time together at James Madison.

Fisher earned third-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors in 2023 after he led JMU with 108 tackles (51 solo) and added six tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception, and a blocked punt.

He followed Cignetti to Indiana in 2024 and became the first linebacker in program history to earn All-American status after posting a team-high 118 tackles.

Fisher earned first-team All-Big Ten honors for the second year in a row last season after racking up 97 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and two interceptions.

Where Is Aiden Fisher From?

Fisher is from Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he played at Riverbend High School. He was an unrated prospect on 247Sports coming out of high school, but he earned a three-star rating as a transfer in 2024.

Aiden Fisher Draft Profile & Comparison

My NFL comparison for Fisher is Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Tommy Eichenberg. Neither possess out-of-this-world athleticism, but they’re both instinctual, high-IQ players that are in position to make plays more often than not.

Fisher is never going to blow people away with his physical traits alone, but he’s a student of the game, he understands how offenses are trying to attack him, and he has the heart to fight through bigger players and get to the ball.

Fisher has been one of the most productive linebackers in the country over the past three seasons, and he did enough to hear his name called in the draft.
