Colorado State finally has a new football coach. But before the Rams begin the Jim Mora era in 2026, they’ve got to finish out their disappointing 2025 campaign.
CSU is 2-9 overall and 1-6 against Mountain West teams. The Rams have lost five consecutive contests, and only one of those was decided by single digits. Most recently, they lost at Boise State 49-21.
On-the-field results haven’t been much better for Air Force, though. The Falcons are 3-8 and 2-5 in the conference standings. However, they’ve been a little more competitive recently.
The Falcons are 2-3 in their last five games with wins over Wyoming and San Jose State. They also lost to Army by just three points and fell to UConn 26-16 before losing to New Mexico 20-3 at home.
Now these two teams will seek to finish the season out strong on national television.

Air Force vs. Colorado State Prediction
I predict Air Force will win and cover the 2.5-point spread. I also project the game will go Over 46.5 total points.
For the season, Air Force is 11th in the 12-team Mountain West in scoring defense (31.18 points per game allowed) while Colorado State is 10th (29.82 PPG allowed). CSU is 10th in total defense (426.55 yards per game allowed) while Air Force is last (431.18 YPG allowed).
All to say, I don’t expect this to be a low-scoring game.
To me, the mismatch of this game will be clear when Air Force has the ball. The Falcons lead the Mountain West with 256.45 rushing yards per game and are second with 4.81 yards per rush. The Rams allow the most rushing yards in the league at 194.82 per game.
Even if the Falcons’ season will soon be over, I don’t think head coach Troy Calhoun is expecting his team to coast to the end. I think they will finish the season strong with a win on the road.
