With the spotlight on him and his team, Seyi Oladipo was primed to make an impact.
Boise State was taking on Oregon this past season, and the Broncos had taken an early lead. The Ducks had the ball on their own 38-yard line and, facing a 10-7 deficit, were seeking to sustain a drive on third and 15.
Oladipo was lingering around the line of scrimmage before the snap. And the second Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel had the ball in his hands, Oladipo made his move. He stutter-stepped and then flew by a tight end, and from there, the Boise State defensive back was completely unaccounted for. It took him just two seconds to sack Gabriel.
Oladipo was arguably the best pass-rushing DB in the country last season. But he has many more skills beyond that which could lead to him making it in the NFL.
Seyi Oladipo NFL Draft Projection In 2025
I project Seyi Oladipo will either be selected in the seventh round of the NFL Draft or will be an undrafted free agent. But I could see him being a valuable addition for a team.
Seyi Oladipo’s Height & Weight
Seyi Oladipo was listed at 5-foot-11, 205 pounds during his final year at Boise State.
Seyi Oladipo’s Stats & Highlights
In Seyi Oladipo’s final season at Boise State in 2024, he led all defensive backs in the Mountain West and the FBS with 6.5 sacks.
He not only makes impact plays, but he’s dependable as well. Over Boise State’s 42 games over the past three years, Oladipo has appeared in all of them and has made 21 starts.
In 2024, Oladipo was on the All-Mountain West second team. He made 68 tackles, 10.5 for loss, with two passes defended, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
The year prior, he was on the all-conference honorable mention list after making a career-high 70 tackles to go with 8.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, five passes defended, one interception, and one forced fumble.
In 2022, Oladipo racked up 40 tackles, 1.5 for loss, with six passes defended and a 48-yard interception returned for a touchdown. He played in 12 games in 2021, recording eight tackles, six passes defended, two interceptions, and one TFL.
Seyi Oladipo’s NFL Comparison & 2025 NFL Draft Profile
I believe some elements of Seyi Oladipo’s game are comparable to Trent McDuffie of the Kansas City Chiefs. McDuffie is more talented and may have more of a cornerback background, but he can play anywhere on the field. He’s also highly effective on blitzes, similar to Oladipo.
Oladipo can play nickelback or safety. During the 1,973 snaps he played in his career, he lined up in the slot on 936 of them while playing in the box on 782 snaps. He also combined for 225 snaps lined up at the line of scrimmage or at free safety.
Oladipo is excellent on blitzes, as he often times the snap impeccably. He was second in the FBS among safeties with 21 quarterback pressures. According to Pro Football Focus, he was third in the nation with 37 defensive stops which were constituted as failures for the offense.
In coverage, he allowed 21 catches for 147 yards on just 29 targets while allowing no touchdowns in coverage this past season.
Oladipo was constantly around the ball in college, as he’s capable of covering a lot of field in a short amount of time. He’s also physical in run support and is capable of shedding blocks.
Whether he’s drafted or not, I could see Oladipo being on an NFL roster in 2025.
