Two of the best programs in the Mountain West – and maybe in the entire Group of Five – will square off this evening.
Boise State, which is ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press Top 25 and is first in this week’s HERO Sports 2024 Group of Five Top 25 Media Poll, will go on the road to take on UNLV, which is No. 2 in the G5 poll. Both teams are 2-0 in conference play, while the Broncos are 5-1 overall with their only loss being against Oregon and UNLV is 6-1 after only losing to Syracuse.

I predict Boise State will win and cover the spread at -3.5. I also project the game will go Under 63.5 total points.
Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty is a Heisman Trophy frontrunner for a reason. He’s been unbelievable thus far.
But Boise State has also been in a lot of blowout games this year, so I don’t think people have gotten to see him play at his best for a full game except for during the Broncos’ loss at Oregon.
Well, I think Jeanty could end up with more than 250 rushing yards here. UNLV’s defense has been solid this season, but the Rebels have steadily allowed more and more points as the year has gone on. I think that should be worrisome for UNLV fans in this matchup.
I expect UNLV’s offense will be able to move the ball a little bit, because Boise State’s defense hasn’t been perfect, either. But I think the Broncos’ pass rush will cause some problems for UNLV, and I ultimately think Boise State’s dominance on the ground will help the Broncos stay in control of this game for a seven-point win.
