Boise State’s coaches said they would play two quarterbacks going into last week’s game against San Jose State, and both had highlight moments.
Maddux Madsen, a freshman, completed 9 of 16 passes for 155 yards, one touchdown, and one interception to go with 39 yards and a touchdown on the ground in the win over SJSU. Taylen Green, the Mountain West Freshman of the Year in 2022, was 4 for 8 with 75 yards and a touchdown through the air but also ran for 40 yards and two scores.
Whoever is behind center, Boise State has playmakers on both sides of the ball.
Ashton Jeanty leads the team with 656 yards and eight touchdowns rushing. Eric McAlister has caught 30 passes for 596 yards and four touchdowns.
Ahmed Hassanein paces the Broncos on defense with four sacks, while Marco Notarainni has a team-high 42 tackles.
Colorado State Football Sparked By Tory Horton And Mohamed Kamara
Though Colorado State made a change at quarterback earlier this season, Tory Horton continued to be the team’s primary playmaker.
The wide receiver leads the Rams with 560 yards and six touchdowns on 48 catches. Tight end Dallin Holker is second on the team with 412 yards and five touchdowns on 32 receptions. Kobe Johnson has a team-high 128 rushing yards.
Quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi has shown potential since becoming the starter. He has recorded 1,585 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions on a 65% completion rate.
Mohamed Kamara has flourished for Colorado State’s defense. He leads the country with 9.5 sacks and has added 23 total tackles.

Boise State vs. Colorado State Football Prediction
I’m picking Boise State to win and cover the spread at -7.5. I also believe the game will go Under 60.5 total points.
I think Boise State’s defense will show up for this game. I specifically think the Broncos will get plenty of pressure on Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, which will give Colorado State’s offense major issues.
Whoever plays at quarterback for Boise State, I believe the offense will score enough to go up by a couple touchdowns. Then the Broncos’ defense will help them keep a similar lead.
