The seven wins UTSA recorded last year were the least since 2020, which was head coach Jeff Traylor’s first year at the helm of the program. UTSA won six regular season games and went on to beat Coastal Carolina in the First Responder Bowl, finishing 7-6 and 4-4 in AAC play. The Roadrunners had won at least seven conference games the three seasons prior.
College football betting odds have UTSA’s win total for the 2025 season at Over/Under 7.5 games. The over is at +110 while the under is -130. The Roadrunners’ most difficult games come at home, which could determine whether they go over this number.
How Many Games Will UTSA Win In 2025?
The Roadrunners don’t have to travel far during the first three weeks of the season while all three opponents are in-state programs. After the three-hour trip to Texas A&M in Week 1, they host Texas State and Incarnate Word in Weeks 2 and 3. I like UTSA to pick up those two home victories ahead of a trip to Colorado State.
The matchup against CSU will be just the third-ever meeting between the Rams and Roadrunners. The first two were in 2015 and 2016 with CSU winning both games. It’ll be another tough non-conference test for UTSA, but I think they leave Fort Collins with a victory.
If the Roadrunners are able to get out of non-conference play with three wins, they should be able to carry that momentum into league play. I think they can start the AAC slate 3-0 with wins over Temple, Rice, and North Texas.
Things get a little more difficult the next two games with Tulane and USF on deck. The good news is UTSA will head into the Tulane matchup off a bye and get the Green Wave at home. I like the Roadrunners in this matchup in what should be a contest that has AAC title game implications.
UTSA’s final three games of the season include a visit to Charlotte before hosting East Carolina and Army. I think UTSA defeats Charlotte and splits its final two games.
How Many Games Will UTSA Lose in 2025?
The Roadrunners have visited Texas A&M twice in the past decade and lost by double-digits in both contests, including a 45-14 defeat in 2019. I don’t think they will lose by as much as they did then, but I don’t think the Roadrunners will pull off the upset here.
I also think the matchup with USF proves to be a tough outing, especially if UTSA is able to knock off Tulane. That could lead to a hangover spot against the Bulls, who will be coming off a bye week. This will also be UTSA’s first ever trip to USF.
UTSA Football Win Total Prediction
I believe UTSA is being undervalued here, and their schedule is a big reason why. The road games are winnable — especially in conference play — and the Roadrunners also avoid two of the top five teams in the AAC in Memphis and Navy.
Even if they were to lose to CSU or Texas State, and to Tulane, getting eight victories is very much in reach. I think the Roadrunners easily go Over 7.5 wins, and the fact that it is at plus-money makes the play even more intriguing.
