When Jimmy Rogers went to Washington State, fans thought he might be there for at least a few years. He brought a championship resume, having won an FCS title while at South Dakota State.
Rogers led Wazzu to a 6-6 record in 2025, helping the Cougars earn bowl-eligibility. But then Iowa State lost its head coach, Matt Campbell, to Penn State. And the Cyclones rapidly made the decision to hire Rogers to lead their program.
