Chris Adams NFL Draft Projection & Profile: Why The Memphis OT Could Be A Day 3 Sleeper

Chris Adams’ determination shouldn’t go unnoticed.

During last season’s 32-31 victory over Arkansas, the Memphis offensive tackle suffered an injury and could “barely walk” at halftime. Nonetheless, he stayed in the game and helped Memphis rush for 290 yards and three touchdowns.

He was also extremely committed to adding a ton of weight this year, going from 277 pounds to 311 pounds. That’s not an easy thing to do.

Adams didn’t miss a game in his final three seasons of his college career and battled back from a season-ending injury. His willingness to make sure he was doing what he can to be on the field is one of the reasons he’s on the NFL Draft radar.

Chris Adams NFL Draft Projection

I project Chris Adams will be selected in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Adams’ stock was a little higher early in the 2025 season, but it has since dropped following an up-and-down year.

Chris Adams’ 40 Time & NFL Combine Results

Chris Adams’ NFL Combine results weren’t great.

They included a broad jump of 9 feet, 8 inches and a vertical of 24 inches. He timed in at 8.57 seconds on the three-cone drill and 5.26 seconds in the 10-yard shuttle. Adams repped 11 times on bench press and clocked six seconds flat in the 40-yard dash.

Chris Adams’ Height & Weight

Chris Adams was measured at 6-foot-5, 311 pounds at the NFL Combine. Like I mentioned above, he went from 277 pounds to 311 during the season.

His arm size is 33 5/8 inches and his hand size is 10 3/8 inches.

Chris Adams Stats & Highlights

Chris Adams’ redshirt junior campaign went better for him than his senior season did. During his redshirt junior year, he didn’t allow any sacks and only 19 pressures. In the previous season, he played every snap while starting at both right and left tackle.

Adams also helped pave the way for a pair of 1,000 yard rushers during his three years at Memphis. The Tigers were a top three offense in 2023 and 2024 and led the American Conference in scoring both years.

Where Is Chris Adams From?

Chris Adams is from Hagerstown, Maryland, where he graduated from South Hagerstown High School.

Prior to Memphis, he spent three seasons at Old Dominion and suffered a season-ending injury in his second season with the program which led to him redshirting.

Chris Adams NFL Draft Profile

Chris Adams’ experience, durability, and drive might be his biggest strengths. With all of the snaps he played during his college career, he of course gained a ton of knowledge.

And with the added mass he has put on, Adams now has the size to be an NFL offensive lineman. He’s better in run blocking situations than he is in pass protection and uses his hands well.

However, Adams’ lack of athleticism and quickness showed last season when he gave up nine sacks. His quality of play took a step back, but there’s a chance adding 34 pounds in a short amount of time played a role. He’s also struggled with penalties throughout his career.

These are areas that can be cleaned up, though, while he still boasts the size and mindset to be successful. Adams is definitely a developmental prospect but could pan out to be a solid backup or potentially even a starter if that process goes well.
