Christian Haynes was phenomenal as a pass protector and run blocker the past few years. That helped the UConn offensive lineman garner attention from NFL teams.
He further bolstered his case to be a draft pick after his performances at the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine. That all led to him becoming a Day 2 selection.
Haynes was picked in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks with the No. 81 overall pick on Friday evening.
Here’s what that means for Haynes’ first pro contract.
Christian Haynes’ Contract Details
Haynes is projected to be able to sign a four-year, $5.8 million contract with the Seahawks, according to Spotrac. Haynes’ deal could include a $1 million signing bonus and an average annual value of $1.4 million.
There’s a limit for NFL rookie contracts depending on when players are drafted, so there likely won’t be much negotiating needed.
Haynes was the fourth Group of Five prospect off the board in this year’s draft.
