Troy defended its Sun Belt Championship and won the league again in 2023.
However, the Trojans will have a new head coach this season. And when it comes to competing for a conference title, the rest of the Sun Belt will now have to account for JMU. The Dukes were wildly successful the past two years but couldn’t play for the championship due to NCAA rules for teams transitioning from the FCS. That changes this year.
Troy and JMU, as well as teams like App State, Texas State, and Louisiana, could be some of the college football betting frontrunners to win the conference at some point this year.
