College Football Recruiting News & Analysis: Who Has The Best Recruits In The G6?

College football recruiting is such an imperfect science. No one truly knows how players coming out of high school will adapt to the next level, including in the Group of Six.

As much as people – people who know football well – will try to rank prospects and recruiting classes, it’s tough to know how impactful these new players will be until they begin practice and take the field.

Still, people love to talk about recruiting. And even in the transfer portal era, high school recruiting is crucial for any college football program.

So with national signing day being today, here’s a look at some schools and players who stand out in the G6 recruiting landscape:

Terrious Favors & Kole Cronin Lead Boise State Recruiting Class

Terrious Favors, a wide receiver out of Atlanta, and Kole Cronin, an offensive lineman from Reno, Nevada, are among the few four-star prospects who signed with a G6 school. And they’re going to a program that has a strong history in Boise State.

Favors was the 19th-best athlete prospect in the country, according to 247Sports. He tallied 4,187 all-purpose yards and 34 touchdowns in three seasons at Carver High School. He averaged 19.8 yards per rush and 22.5 yards per catch. On defense, he recorded 90 tackles, seven for loss, as well as 15 interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

But he’s not the only top-notch high school prospect Boise State is bringing in. Cronin was a top-five prospect out of the state of Nevada. At 6-foot-5, 263 pounds, he also played defensive end and tallied 48 tackles, 17.5 TFLs, and 10 sacks at Bishop Manogue High School.

The Broncos have the best recruiting class in the G6, per 247Sports and Rivals.

Jamel Howse & Jordan Harris Highlight Solid App State Recruiting Class

After App State made a bowl game with a 5-7 regular season record in 2025, head coach Dowell Loggains is hoping to build off of that with a solid group of incoming players.

App State is No. 2 in the G6 for recruiting, per On3 and 247Sports, behind only Boise State. The Mountaineers are also No. 1 in the Sun Belt after also putting together a top-three transfer class in the conference.

App State’s recruiting class was led by Jamel Howse, a four-star tight end from Newberry, South Carolina, and Jordan Harris, a four-star EDGE from Maumelle, Arkansas. Howse caught 46 passes for 613 yards and five touchdowns as a senior and was the No. 18-ranked tight end in the country. Harris, a top-100 EDGE nationally, totaled 50 tackles, 27 TFLs, 15.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles as a senior.

Tylan George Stands Out For Tulane Recruiting Class

Tylan George is another four-star prospect going to a G6 program, as he will be attending Tulane. The 6-3, 322-pound interior offensive lineman out of West Monroe, Louisiana, is the 11th-best interior O-lineman in the country, via 247Sports.

Will Hall, who was elevated to head coach this offseason after Jon Sumrall went to Florida, is putting together a solid class for the Green Wave. They’re fifth among G6 teams in the recruiting rankings for 247Sports and On3.

Temple Head Coach KC Keeler Puts Together Top-Notch Class

Many of the G6 recruiting classes ranked in the top 10 by various outlets have made trips to conference championships the last few years – think Boise State and Tulane. A clear outlier here is Temple.

The Owls’ recruiting class is fourth, per 247Sports and On3, in the G6. They’re also first in the American, ahead of teams like Tulane, Memphis, and South Florida. That’s in part because they’ve signed 30-plus athletes, all of whom are three-star prospects.

That group could give Temple a solid foundation in KC Keeler’s second season as the team’s head coach.

Dan Mullen & UNLV Lead Recruiting Efforts In the Mountain West

UNLV’s recruiting class is ranked first in the Mountain West just ahead of Northern Illinois and UTEP. Imagine any of that sentence being true five years ago.

Still, Dan Mullen put together a solid class with 25 three-star commits, per 247Sports. And that’s combined with the No. 1 transfer portal class in 2026.

UNLV was already clearly a team to watch after making it back to the Mountain West Championship in Mullen’s first season as head coach in 2025. But with Boise State out of the picture, the Rebels are in a great position to win the league crown.
