Alex Golesh was the head coach of South Florida for three years, and he quickly turned the program around.
The USF Bulls were 23-15 during his tenure. That included three seasons where they were bowl-eligible. They were in the College Football Playoff picture out of the Group of Five until late in the 2025 season, which ultimately ended with them going 9-3 during the regular season.
And then Golesh took the head coaching vacancy at Auburn. And he’s already brought some players with him.

That includes four-star quarterback Byrum Brown.
Brown led the FBS with 347.2 yards of total offense per game. He was also first in the country in points responsible for with 256. He was seventh in passing efficiency, eighth with 28 passing touchdowns, 21st with 3,158 passing yards, and 33rd with a 66.3% completion rate.
Brown has been one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in college football statistically over the past few decades.
