Eastern Michigan Head Coach Chris Creighton’s Background
Creighton has been a head coach for the vast majority of his career. But he had to move up the ranks of college football to earn the Eastern Michigan opportunity.
He started out as an offensive coordinator at Concordia University in Illinois from 1991-92. He then was a player and head coach for Limhamn Griffins in Sweden in 1993.
He was an offensive coordinator once again at Manchester College in Indiana from 1993-96 before going to Kansas to be Ottawa University’s head coach. From 1997-2000, Creighton enjoyed four winning seasons, two NAIA playoff appearances, and two conference titles.
He was Wabash College’s head coach from 2001-07. His teams put together winning seasons every year during his time there, reaching the Division III playoffs three times and winning four conference championships.
His last stop before going to EMU was as Drake’s head coach from 2008-13. Again, Creighton’s teams never endured a losing season while he was there as Drake was a Pioneer Football League co-champion twice.
