During Senior Bowl practices, Nadame Tucker remarked that he wasn’t supposed to be there. Despite all he had accomplished the previous year, he was reminded of his path to that point.
Tucker was a rotational player the first few seasons of his collegiate career. Then he transferred to Western Michigan and became a star in the MAC. He paced the FBS in sacks and tackles for loss, becoming a Group of Five Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
His rise up NFL Draft boards was improbable in this short amount of time. But it happened. And now he has a real case to make a pro roster.
How will NFL teams view his career resume, though?
Nadame Tucker NFL Draft Projection
I project Nadame Tucker will be selected in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Teams like the Buffalo Bills or San Francisco 49ers would be good fits.
Tucker has the production to become a Day 3 pick. But over the last few years, we’ve seen G6 prospects fall a bit more than they should. If Tucker does go in the fourth round, that would be a steal for any team.

Nadame Tucker Stats & Highlights
Nadame Tucker played for three seasons at Houston to start his collegiate career and accumulated just 10 tackles in 13 games played. But then he transferred to Western Michigan in 2025 and everything changed.
Tucker was first in the country with 21 tackles for loss, which was the sixth-most by a WMU player in a single season. He also tied for first in the FBS with 14.5 sacks. He added 55 tackles, a pass defended, and four forced fumbles.
He was a 2025 HERO Sports Group of Five All-American and G5 Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He was also the MAC MVP and DPOY. Recording 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in the MAC title game, he was the DPOY of the conference championship as well.
Where Is Nadame Tucker From?

Nadame Tucker NFL Draft Profile & Comparison
My NFL comparison for Nadame Tucker is another former G6 player I covered during his draft process: former Colorado State star Mohamed Kamara.
Tucker’s stats speak for themselves, but there’s a reason he recorded all those TFLs and sacks at Western Michigan.
He’s explosive at the snap. He possesses a wide arsenal of pass rush moves and can mix in stutter steps all while finding creative ways to gain leverage and advance past blockers.
He’s good with his hands and keeps his eyes on the backfield. He’s also solid in run support and can chase ball carriers down, including scrambling quarterbacks. He can drop into coverage as needed as well.
The fact that he wasn’t all that impactful at Houston before going to a G6 school is surely going to be a reason for concern for some franchises.
But I think WMU just happened to be the right fit for him, regardless of the conference he played in. And if he lands with a team that’s a good fit in the NFL, I believe he’ll continue to be impactful.
