Just a few weeks ago, Navy was undefeated and was ranked in the Associated Press Top 25. But the last couple games haven’t been so easy for the Midshipmen.
They’re currently on a two-game losing skid after matchups against Notre Dame and Rice. Navy is still 6-2 overall and 4-1 in AAC play, so the Midshipmen could still make it to the conference championship game.
But Navy will likely have to bounce back and beat South Florida this week. And that won’t be easy. Even though USF is 4-4 and 2-2 in AAC play, the Bulls have won their last two games by double digits and appear to be in a rhythm.

Navy vs. USF Prediction
I predict USF will win and cover the spread at +3.5. I also project the game will go Over 56.5 total points.
I expect this to be a high-scoring game. For USF, the Bulls just put up 44 points at FAU and totaled 35 points against UAB before that. Their offense is clicking right now.
On the other side, Navy has one of the best rushing offenses in the country, and USF isn’t stellar against the run on defense, allowing 142.5 yards per game on the ground. I could see the Midshipmen breaking off a few long runs in this game.
Navy is a great team, but I like how USF is playing recently compared to Navy, especially after that loss to Rice. So while I do anticipate this to be a back-and-forth contest, I think USF can win by a touchdown at home.
