Though he’s a Group of Five product, Cade Beresford proved he can compete with top-notch talent.
Beresford, Boise State’s right tackle, showed what he can do against Washington this past season. The Huskies were up 21-9 late in the first half as the Broncos, who had the ball on their own 31-yard line on third-and-9, were aiming to score before halftime.
Beresford began the play with two defenders lined up over him, but he remained ready for whatever the defense did. One of those opponents dropped back into coverage, and Beresford pushed the other inside toward his fellow offensive linemen.
Then he noticed a defensive tackle approaching his way on a stunt, so Beresford side-stepped around his running back who was also pass protecting and prevented that defensive tackle from reaching the quarterback.
The play resulted in an interception. But in that moment, Beresford proved he has the physical and mental abilities to play at an elite level.

Cade Beresford Draft Projection
I project Beresford will be selected in the seventh round of the NFL Draft. Teams like the Jaguars or the Cowboys would make sense.
Beresford showed on his tape he should be worth at least consideration of a draft pick. If he doesn’t go in the draft, he should find a landing spot as an undrafted free agent quickly.
What Was Cade Beresford’s 40 Time?
Beresford ran the 40-yard dash in 5.21 seconds at his pro day, according to The Athletic. That would’ve tied for 31st among offensive linemen at the NFL Combine.
At 6-foot-6, 302 pounds, he also bench pressed 23 reps and had a vertical jump of 28 inches, a broad jump of 8 feet, 11 inches, a three-cone drill time of 7.76 seconds, and a short-shuttle time of 4.76 seconds.
Cade Beresford’s Stats And Highlights
Beresford was one of the best offensive linemen in the Mountain West the past couple years. He made the all-conference first team in 2023 and the second team in 2022.
Beresford allowed 18 quarterback pressures with 12 hurries, four QB hits, and two sacks allowed over 14 games last year. The season before, he allowed 21 pressures with 16 hurries, two hits, and three sacks given up. That was all while primarily playing at right tackle.
Beresford played the last two seasons at Boise State after transferring from Washington State. In 2021 and 2020, he gave up only two pressures after 425 snaps played at right guard and 23 at left tackle.
Cade Beresford’s NFL Comparison And Draft Profile
I project Beresford’s playing style in the NFL will be similar to Ryan Ramczyk of the New Orleans Saints.
Beresford has great footwork, especially in pass protection, though he could work on his hand placement. Nonetheless, he understands the importance of pad level and leverage.
He also is quick to pick up blitzes and stunts, as he did against Washington. He had good reps against Bralen Trice of UW, who is projected by some to be drafted in the first three rounds this year.
Beresford anchors very well, which helps him against bull rushes. He’s also strong in the run game and often gains ground against good defensive linemen in the trenches.
There’s no doubt Beresford has what it takes to make an NFL roster if he performs well during offseason team activities.
