I’m picking SMU to win and cover the spread at -12.5. I’m also predicting the game will go Over 49.5 total points.
SMU is much better than its record indicates. The Mustangs were fairly competitive against Power Five programs Oklahoma and TCU on the road, and they decisively defeated Group of Five programs like Louisiana Tech and Charlotte.
East Carolina has played well against some teams like Rice, but I think SMU is going to be a dominant force in the AAC this year and will show it in this matchup.
