Tulsa fans hoped the Golden Hurricane would show signs of progression in Year 1 under head coach Tre Lamb. But the season hasn’t been easy thus far.
Tulsa started the year with a 35-7 win over Abilene Christian but then dropped its next two games at New Mexico State and against Navy at home. Now at 1-2, Tulsa has an even tougher opponent.
Before they begin American Conference play, the Golden Hurricane will go on the road again, this time to take on Oklahoma State.

Tulsa vs. Oklahoma State Prediction
I predict Oklahoma State will win and cover the 9.5-point spread. I also project the game will go Over 54.5 total points.
I get that Oklahoma State isn’t the best Power Four squad out there. The Cowboys beat UT Martin 27-7 before losing to Oregon 69-3.
But this is still a Big 12 program that’s playing at home on ESPN. I think OSU is going to bounce back from that Oregon loss and be tough on both sides of the ball.
It’s early in the Tre Lamb era at Tulsa. It’s very possible the Golden Hurricane will improve after a couple of tough losses. And that may even happen in this matchup, especially on offense.
But I don’t think it’ll be enough. I’m anticipating the Cowboys will have enough offensive firepower to win by three touchdowns.
