I’m picking FIU to win and cover the spread at -2. I also am predicting the game will go Over 43.5 total points.
Neither team has been successful in recent weeks. FIU is on a two-game losing skid, while UTEP has dropped its last four contests.
But I think the Panthers and their offense, led by quarterback Keyone Jenkins, will have an advantage at home. UTEP is in the bottom three among Conference USA teams in terms of scoring defense (28.2 points per game allowed) and only has one win, which was against an FCS team. I think FIU will find the end zone a few times early and hold on for a victory.
