Man, another bad week! I went 2-3 with my best bets last week, dropping to a disappointing 17-20-1 on the season. Not great.
Here’s to hoping Week 8 finally turns things in my direction. Let’s dive into the college football betting odds and find a few winners. I’ll even take a 3-2 week. I need some positive weeks to close out the season.

Air Force -11.5 vs. Navy
I love this matchup for the Falcons, who are making a legitimate case as the best team in the Group of Five. While Navy has shown some life since a blowout loss to Notre Dame to open the season, the Midshipmen aren’t elite offensively and they’ve struggled on defense against teams other than Charlotte. I expect Air Force to dominate this game, winning a low-scoring affair by multiple touchdowns.
Sam Houston -5.5 vs. FIU
It’s time. The Bearkats are ready to win their first football game of the season. They’ve come close in recent weeks, showing respectable fight.
Playing at home against an FIU team with zero conference wins feels like the perfect remedy for a winless team. Give me the Bearkats to finally win, and I think they’ll win by a touchdown or more. Believe! But maybe don’t watch what might be an ugly game of football on a Wednesday night.

Miami Ohio +1.5 vs. Toledo
Miami Ohio is 12-3 at home since the start of the 2020 season. The Redhawks are a wildly impressive 4-1 on the road this season. While I like Toledo’s program, the Redhawks should benefit from a home-field advantage and beat an equally matched team. Give me the home underdog.
JMU -3.5 at Marshall
Thursday night football on ESPN! I’m expecting the Dukes to continue their revenge tour, taking down Georgia Southern and Marshall in consecutive games after losing to the teams in consecutive games in 2022.
Marshall’s rushing defense is a major red flag, and the Dukes aren’t afraid of leaning on running backs Kaelon Black and Ty Son Lawton. Defensively, JMU’s defensive front hasn’t allowed a 100-yard rushing performance all season. Marshall’s Rasheen Ali is an elite running back, but this matchup is a nightmare for the Thundering Herd’s top offensive player.
Louisiana -3 vs. Georgia State
It’s time for the Cajuns to grab a quality victory over a team from the Sun Belt East. They lost to Old Dominion earlier this year, but quarterback Zeon Chriss didn’t play in that loss. He’s been fantastic of late, making the Cajuns a legitimate contender in the West.
Look for Louisiana to win a higher-scoring contest behind stellar play from Chriss.
