Washington State vs. Colorado State Prediction, Betting Odds & How To Watch

Neither Washington State nor Colorado State, which will both be in the rebuilt Pac-12 next season, have started their 2025 campaigns the way they hoped to.

Colorado State is 1-2 overall. The Rams barely defeated FCS Northern Colorado 21-17 and opened the year with a 38-21 loss at Washington. Most recently, they fell against UTSA 17-16.

Washington State, on the other hand, started out more promising. The Cougars beat Idaho 13-10 and followed that up with a 36-13 victory over San Diego State.

But now they’re 2-2 overall following a two-game losing skid. They weren’t close during their road trip to North Texas, which ended with a 59-10 UNT victory. Then they lost the Apple Cup against Washington 59-24.

Both squads are hopeful this week is an opportunity to get back on track toward bowl-eligibility.

Washington State vs. Colorado State Betting Odds

Colorado State is a -5.5 college football betting odds favorite against Washington State, with the Over/Under being 49.5 as of this writing.

The moneyline for Washington State is +170, while it’s -210 for Colorado State.

Washington State vs. Colorado State Prediction

I predict Washington State will win and cover the 5.5-point spread. I also project the game will go Over 49.5 total points.

I fully expect this to be a close game, and I could see an argument for why either team will ultimately prevail. But I’m going with Wazzu because I don’t think the last couple of games are truly reflective of what the team is capable of.

I expect Zevi Eckhaus to have a solid game here. The Washington State quarterback took over the starting role, and against Washington he was 25-of-36 passing for 277 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions while rushing for another touchdown.

The Cougars also have a good number of playmakers. At running back, Kirby Vorhees has rushed for 132 yards. At wide receiver, Joshua Meredith (15 catches, 195 yards, and one touchdown), Tony Freeman (18 catches for 182 yards), and Carter Pabst (108 yards on five receptions) have all had some impactful moments.

Colorado State is also making a change at quarterback. The Rams are benching Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi and starting Jackson Brousseau this week. While that could end up giving CSU a spark on offense, I wonder if it may take a week or two before Brousseau finds a rhythm.

While I do think CSU will put up some points, I believe Wazzu’s offense will be even better.
