ESPN’s College GameDay will have its first show of the 2021 college football season at an FCS game.
The show will air on Saturday, Aug. 28 outside of Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta, which is the site of the Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff between Alcorn State and North Carolina Central in Week 0.
Alcorn State is ranked No. 21 in HERO Sports’ Preseason Top 25.
The game is on ESPN at 6 p.m. CT with GameDay airing at 8 a.m. The three-hour season preview show will highlight key storylines and offer news, analysis, and predictions for the upcoming college football season, while also celebrating the tradition, legacy, and values of HBCUs.
The marching bands from North Carolina Central (The Marching Sound Machine) and Alcorn State (The Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite) will be showcased during the show.
The network’s popular show First Take will also be on-site and will be live on Friday, Aug. 27.
“We all missed the traditions of college football and the festive atmosphere of Saturdays last season, so we are particularly excited to welcome fans back for College GameDay’s 35th season, starting with the first two road shows in Atlanta and Charlotte,” said Drew Gallagher, ESPN coordinating producer.
