Montana head coach Bobby Hauck announced his retirement today, effective immediately.
In two tenures and 14 seasons as head coach for the Grizzlies, Hauck compiled a 151-43 record, making him the winningest coach in Big Sky Conference football history in overall wins and league wins (86). He was also a four-time Big Sky Coach of the Year.
Under Hauck, Montana won eight Big Sky titles, reached the playoffs 13 times, and made four national championship game appearances. He recently led the Griz to the national title game in the 2023 season and to the 2025 semifinals.
Also today, Montana announced wide receivers coach Bobby Kennedy has been named head coach. Kennedy joined the Grizzly staff in August of 2025. He previously spent 20+ years coaching WRs at the FBS level, including stops at Washington, Texas, Colorado, Iowa, Stanford, and Rice. His college coaching career began in 1990 as a GA at Illinois.
