The spring FCS national championship game is set.
No. 1 seed South Dakota State plays No. 2 seed Sam Houston. It is SDSU’s first FCS championship appearance while the Bearkats are 0-2 in the title game, losing in the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
The game kicks off at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday (May 16) in Frisco, Texas. It will air on ABC.
SDSU dominated Delaware 33-3 in the semifinals after beating Holy Cross 31-3 in the first round and Southern Illinois 31-26 in the quarterfinals.
SHSU erased a 24-3 halftime deficit to beat 3-seed JMU 38-35 in the semifinals. The week prior, the Bearkats knocked off defending national champions North Dakota State 24-20. SHSU defeated Monmouth 21-15 in the first round.
