Throughout the May-August months, HERO Sports is going to name the best returning FCS player by jersey number, 99-1. Due to rosters being updated at different times for teams across the country and to keep things consistent, jersey numbers are based on the 2019 season.

65: Paul Grattan, OL (Sr.) — Villanova
Grattan is a three-year starter entering his senior season, playing both guard and center throughout his collegiate career.
Last year was when the 6-foot-4, 300-pounder really emerged as a standout offensive lineman. Grattan earned First Team All-CAA honors as Villanova allowed just 1.08 sacks per game, which ranked 10th in the FCS and first in the CAA.
Grattan is a 2020 preseason HERO Sports Second Team All-American while Villanova is preseason ranked No. 8.
The Pittsburgh native has the skill set to play at the next level. Draft Scout ranks Grattan as a player that can earn an undrafted free agent contract a year from now. Another big season could see the big man’s stock rise even more.
