FCS vs. FBS games are good for college football. While some FBS fans and media can argue against them, Jimbo Fisher nailed it when he said these matchups need to continue happening.
A majority of FCS programs depend on the guaranteed payouts to support their budget. Some teams schedule two FBS opponents a year, which hurts their chances at a playoff bid but helps the football program and its athletic department’s operating costs.
Plus, it’s an opportunity for teams and players to showcase the level of play in the FCS with a lot of these games being competitive and several resulting in upsets.
