FCS RECRUITING: Top 25 FCS Recruits

FCS RECRUITING: Top 25 FCS Recruits

So it's National Signing Day, or at least one of them. Honestly, this is really the beginning of the late signing period … that's a more accurate description of what the first Wednesday in February is now.

Prospects can sign a letter of intent for many weeks beyond today, and several FCS recruits will do that. But we decided to take a look at what we know so far and give you a sneak peak of what we'll be publishing over the next two weeks to document the FCS' recruiting class of 2018.

2017 FCS RECRUITING: HERO Sports ranked the top teams

Here are a couple of things to know:

  • HERO Sports will publish an FCS Top 50 classes piece and a FCS Top 250 incoming freshmen piece on Feb. 21. Leading up to that, we'll be breaking down each conference — all 13 — from an individual standpoint.
  • How did we come up with our ranking list below? Simple — it's subjective, but all recruiting rankings are that way. We combined 247Sports, Rivals, their offer lists and our own thoughts to come up with our version of the FCS recruiting rankings. We provide some of their top offers in the piece. This is our third year doing this.
  • Why are there so many Ivy League players, you might ask? Our answer — look who these prospects shot down so they could attend an Ivy League school. Kind of makes you wonder what a team like Ivy champion Yale would do if they were in the FCS Playoffs, doesn't it? The talent these teams are getting is incredible.
  • Last thing – No. 1 prospect Brevin White? He's a 4-star quarterback prospect. Not too shabby for an FCS team (Princeton) to pull that off.

So, enough of that — let's see if your favorite FCS team has a player in our first published recruiting piece of 2018. And my oh my did some big ones come in today For Weber State, Chattanooga and Jacksonville State (see the list below).

Enjoy.
