Welcome to the 2019 FCS Kickoff Jersey Countdown.
The regular season begins Saturday, Aug. 24 with Samford vs. Youngstown State in the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff along with Villanova playing at Colgate.

HERO Sports is going to count down each day by highlighting the best player in the FCS who wears the jersey number equal to the number of days until kickoff. You can find the running list of top players here.

86: Briley Moore, TE (Sr.) — Northern Iowa
A combination of size, speed, physicality, athleticism and hands has NFL eyes on Moore. After earning All-Missouri Valley Football Conference Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore in 2017 where he caught 38 passes for 494 yards, Moore upped his game last year.
The 6-foot-3, 242-pounder led the Panthers in receptions (39), receiving yards (536) and receiving touchdowns (four). Whether he was picking up valuable first downs on third-down situations or creating explosive plays like his 64-yard touchdown catch in the first minute of the game against NDSU, Moore was one of the best tight ends in the FCS last year.
He was named to the All-MVFC First Team.
UNI has a new starting QB in 2019 but returns a ton of weapons in the passing game. And life for a new starter gets a little easier when you have a guy like Moore to throw to.
