12: Tyrie Adams, QB (Sr.) — Western Carolina
"About time this guy is a senior," SoCon defensive coordinators, probably.
Adams has been a force on the field since his redshirt freshman season in 2016, where he was named a HERO Sports Freshman All-American, the SoCon's Freshman of the Year and finished fourth in the Jerry Rice Award voting for top freshman in the FCS. Adams threw for 2,568 yards and 15 touchdowns that season while rushing for 358 yards and one touchdown.

As a sophomore, Adams threw for 2,294 yards and 22 touchdowns and ran for 746 yards and two touchdowns. He earned All-SoCon Second Team honors and was named on our Sophomore All-American Team.
Last season, the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder broke the school record with 3,423 yards of total offense. Adams threw for 2,417 yards and 16 TDs and rushed for 1,006 yards and 10 scores. He became just one of 11 quarterbacks in FCS history to record 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in the same season. Adams hauled in postseason honors once again: All-SoCon Second Team, HERO Sports Third Team All-American and STATS Second Team All-American.
His career numbers are eye-opening: 594-947 passing for 7,279 yards, 53 touchdowns and 23 interceptions with 472 rushes for 2,110 yards and 13 TDs. Adams enters his senior year as the Southern Conference's Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and a HERO Sports Preseason Second Team All-American.
