THE PRO PROSPECTS

JAMES MADISON
TOP PROSPECT: Ron'Dell Carter, DE — This Dukes All-American has a draft grade of 6th to 7th round and is already scheduled to head to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in California after playing in the national championship game this week, playing on Jan. 18 in the Rose Bowl. It is looking good for Carter, who has been a player at JMU for three seasons and is returning to Frisco this week. He might win the Buck Buchanan Award, which is No. 1 for the FCS defensive star.

NORTH DAKOTA STATE[divider]
TOP PROSPECT: Jabril Cox, LB — This Bison All-American isn't even a senior this season and already is being talked about as a potential 2020 draft pick, not that he has declared his intention to leave school. One mock draft (DraftSite.com) has Cox as a third-round choice. We shall see about all of that, but regardless of which year Cox is available, he'll be a draft pick — and on this young NDSU team he's the top potential pick. And we've harped on it all year … NDSU is a young team, with a ton of young prospects like QB Trey Lance, OL Dillon Radunz and of course … LB Jabril Cox. Stay tuned.

NOTE: "PFA" means Priority Free Agent, which generally means right on the cusp of being drafted, and will have multiple options immediately following the draft, of which the athlete and his agent can make the decision of which team to go to camp with. Some NFL Draft experts consider being a Priority Free Agent a better situation than being a late draft pick.
