FCS RECRUITING: MVFC Team And Individual Rankings – Sept.

FCS RECRUITING: MVFC Team And Individual Rankings – Sept.

The FCS recruiting picture is going from foggy to a tad bit more in focus, and we at HERO Sports figured we'd begin taking a look at the classes around the leagues.

The Missouri Valley Football Conference traditionally receives commitments earlier, as a collective, than any other conference in the country. Below, we have team rankings based on we've seen as of Sept. 10, and a Top 30 ranking of the MVFC recruits … and below that? The list of all 125 commitments to MVFC schools, including the most recent one — DL Cody Zugenbuehler, who committed to Illinois State just hours before we packaged this.

Next up? The CAA.

Ah yeah, the team rankings. So what is this based on? Well, numbers of recruits on board (see the complete lists of MVFC recruits below the Top 30 players ranking), plus what offers did these recruits have before they committed? Now, this is still early, and there are several MVFC programs that recruit "later" in the cycle because their hotbeds are a bit different than the midwest. Whereas NDSU, SDSU and USD have nearly put their classes completely together and are set up for the December signing period.

Classes like Southern Illinois' and Youngstown State's — for example — will move up because they will get talented commitments down the stretch. And oh … yes, we included North Dakota because frankly? These kids will be playing in the MVFC soon enough.

MVFC TEAM RANKING (as of Sept. 10)

1. North Dakota State

2. South Dakota State

4. Illinois State

THE LIST BY MVFC SCHOOL (as of Sept. 10)

NOTE: These commitments are not made public by the schools, this is a grassroots effort to try to collect recruiting news through various means. There's always the chance one or two players have slipped through, so hit me up on Twitter @BrianMacWriter if that's the case.
