(UPDATED: Wednesday, 9 p.m. ET with today's complete draft results)
The XFL is restarting its engines after nearly 18 years. On Tuesday, the spring football league drafted for three position groups and top quarterbacks, and Wednesday was the top DBs and then an "open" set of rounds — and 82 FCS products were selected. After Wednesday, James Madison and Tennessee State tied for the most FCS draft picks with five and four respectively, with Idaho, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern University and Stony Brook all having three taken.

The XFL Draft via conference call was spread over two days, Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct. 15 and 16). The method is a tad bit different than the NFL Draft. There are eight teams, and the XFL allotted those teams the primary quarterbacks they requested (none were from the FCS in this initial QB grab, but other QBs from the FCS level were taken in the "open" phase on Wednesday). Also, the league drafted by position group — offensive skill, offensive linemen and defensive front seven players were taken Tuesday, and defensive backs and "open draft" picks were chosen on Wednesday. Each position had 10 rounds, and the "open draft" had 30 rounds — broken into "Open Phases 1, 2 and 3".
Teams will draft 71 players, and will whittle that down to a 52-man roster by the time the season begins on Feb. 8, 2020 — the weekend after the Super Bowl. The XFL Championship will be played in late April, and there will be a 10-game regular season, with all eight teams getting five home games. There will also be a supplemental draft in November for those players who are currently on NFL rosters but may be released in the next several weeks.
This FCS was updated with Wednesday's choices.
