Welcome to the 2020 FCS Jersey Countdown.
Throughout the May-August months, HERO Sports is going to name the best returning FCS player by jersey number, 99-1. Due to rosters being updated at different times for teams across the country and to keep things consistent, jersey numbers are based on the 2019 season.

85: Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim, WR (So.) — Alabama A&M
Ibrahim put his stamp on the FCS right away in his career as a freshman last year. His name popped up everywhere when it came to postseason accolades and statistical leaders. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound playmaker made it known he is one of the best young receivers in the subdivision.
Finishing 2019 with 59 receptions for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns, Ibrahim was named the SWAC Freshman of the Year and was on the All-Conference First Team as well. HERO Sports recognized him as a Freshman All-American.
And throughout the season, Ibrahim was selected as the SWAC Newcomer of the Week three times.
He had the most receiving yards by an FCS freshman in 2019. His 11 touchdowns were the second-most by an FCS freshman and tied for the 16th most out of all FCS players.
Ibrahim finished 14th in voting for the Jerry Rice Award, given to the top freshman in the FCS.
And here’s the thing, Ibrahim came to Alabama A&M as a walk-on. Now he’s one of the best offensive weapons in the league.
