Throughout the May-August months, HERO Sports is going to name the best returning FCS player by jersey number, 99-1. Due to rosters being updated at different times for teams across the country and to keep things consistent, jersey numbers are based on the 2019 season.

97: Brevin Allen, DL (Jr.) — Campbell
Allen was looked at to contribute more as a sophomore last year. And he delivered.
He saw game action in 10 games as a freshman and had some bright spots. But last year was a coming-out party for the 6-foot-4, 255-pounder. Allen totaled 54 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and three quarterback hurries.
His play earned him All-Big South Second Team honors. Allen was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week after having eight tackles, 3.5 TFLs and a sack against Presbyterian on Oct. 5.
If Allen’s development from his freshman to sophomore year continues into 2020, a special season is in store.
