The Braves took home the SWAC Championship at the end of a 9-3 season, finishing with only one conference loss. North Carolina A&T won the MEAC, finishing the ear with a 9-2 overall record that included a 20-17 win over eventual FCS Playoffs qualifier Jacksonville State and a 28-23 win over FBS East Carolina.
