The countdown to the 2018 college football season is on. Four FCS teams are in action Aug. 25 as Duquesne takes on UMass, Prairie View faces Rice and North Carolina A&T and Jacksonville State square off in ESPN’s FCS Kickoff.

38: Taylor Powell, junior linebacker – Northern Arizona
The Big Sky doesn't lack for talented linebackers, thanks in part to the talent-rich NAU roster. Rising junior Taylor Powell is a player to watch in 2018, as he could take the next step from good to great.
Powell has had a quick start to his college career in Flagstaff. He's posted 91 tackles (7 TFL's) through his first two seasons, including 30 as a true freshman. He's also earned an Honorable Mention from the Big Sky in each of his first two seasons.
Following the graduation of NAU leading tackler Byron Evans, Powell is in position to become one of the go-to guys for the Lumberjacks. We won't be surprised when he starts getting more love from the Big Sky media guys in October and November.
