It wasn't just an FCS record, it's a record that encompasses all of Division I football. Central Connecticut State running back Aaron Dawson will be in the D-I record book … probably for awhile.

FCS SEEDINGS: After Week Eight
The Blue Devils' running back rushed for the D-I record 308 yards in the second half as CCSU solidified its hold near the top of the Northeast Conference — as they hope for their second straight visit to the FCS Playoffs in November. Dawson didn't even start the game at running back, but finished with a school-record 361 yards rushing and 5 TDs in the game. But it was the second half that will stand out in history.
Dawson (5-foot-10, 220 pounds) scored four touchdowns in the second half and they were all on plays of 45 yards or more. CCSU was actually down 14-0 very early in the game after a punt block for a touchdown and interception return by Wagner in the first quarter, but stormed back for the key NEC win.
Dawson is a sophomore out of Westbury, N.Y. and played in 10 games as a freshman last year, carrying the ball eight times for 26 yards. This year he has rushed for 725 yards and 11 TDs, much of which … not surprisingly … came today.
