But people forget Mike Houston and his staff have brought in some of the best recruiting classes in the subdivision. Now in the third season with this coaching regime, the level of recruiting is starting to show.
The Dukes competed well at North Carolina State to open the season and had a chance to win. And while the next four FCS opponents aren't exactly powerhouses, JMU has still annihilated the opposition.
Quarterback Ben DiNucci is completing nearly 75 percent of his passes and the defense is allowing just 8.2 points per game. So are we ready to call this year's JMU team better than the 2017 squad that nearly won the national championship for the second year in a row?
