PODCAST: Listen to "JMU Coach Mike Houston on Trai Sharp, Cardon Johnson" on Spreaker.
That's because budding star running back Trai Sharp found out that his father, David, has passed away during the game while the young running back was on his way to the second best game of his JMU career. The funeral will be on Thursday in North Carolina, and coach Mike Houston will be in attendance. Sharp has expressed to his head coach that he and his family both want him in the game on Saturday against Maine at home. Sharp found out late in the game and left in the fourth quarter.
Also on Saturday, earlier in the game, fellow stud RB Cardon Johnson was lost for the season to another Achilles injury. He missed half of 2016 to that injury and wasn't able to play in the national title game run.
