68: Marquis Prophete, senior offensive lineman – Missouri State
Marquis Prophete might be one of the great overlooked players in FCS Football, but he didn't escape our gaze. A 6-foot-5, 310-pound monster lineman from the Valley, Prophete gives Mo. State's run game some serious juice up front.
Prophete, who started his college career at tackle but played guard last year, anchors the right side of an offensive line that might surprise you with its talent. Though the Bears finished just 3-8 last year, they ranked as one of the better Valley teams when it came to running the ball, scratching out 4.66 yards per carry.
Prophete ranks as one of the strongest linemen in the Valley, best evidenced by his winning one of the conference's coveted Offensive Lineman of the Week awards last season. However, he was only named to the MVFC's Honorable Mention list at the end of the year.
It's no secret that the Valley is home to a number of great offensive lineman, so this wasn't necessarily a slight. That being said, we fully expect Prophete to jump into the first-team discussion during his 2018 senior campaign — regardless of his team's record.
