FCS Kickoff Countdown: 72 Days, the Best Player in FCS Football that Wears No. 72

72: Andrew Miles, senior offensive lineman – Western Carolina

The Southern Conference is home to plenty of strong rushing offenses, and the Catamounts of Western Carolina certainly qualify as one to be feared. Western's strong offensive line helped Detrez Newsome to his third consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season in 2017, as the team piled up nearly 2,800 yards on the ground. On the whole, the Catamounts averaged a healthy 5.29 yards per carry.

Redshirt junior lineman Andrew Miles was a huge interior presence for Western last year, as he stepped into a more full-time role at left guard after spot duty as an underclassman. Alongside classmate Zach Weeks — who will also be a redshirt senior in 2018 — Miles was selected as a second-team SoCon lineman by media members.

With Miles and Weeks anchoring a unit that's already been strong for several years now, Western's ground and pound should continue to churn out yards by the hundreds, even after Newsome's departure.
