95: Chris Terrell, junior defensive end – Central Arkansas
As just a sophomore in 2017, Terrell was named a Second Team All-American by STATS and a Third Team All-American by the Associated Press and HERO Sports. Add in an All-Southland Conference First Team nod and a part of the HERO Sports All-Sophomore Team, the 6-foot-3, 270-pounder proved himself to be one of the best up-and-comers in the FCS.
Terrell recorded 51 total tackles for the Bears and tied for the team lead with 11 sacks. His 20 tackles for loss ranked fourth in the FCS.
As the Bears went 10-0 against FCS opponents in the regular season and won the Southland Conference, Terrell had at least one tackle for loss in each game and went only one game without a sack.
"And on defense, our defensive front has a chance to be special," first-year UCA head coach Nathan Brown said this spring. "Led by (junior end) Chris Terrell, (sophomore tackle) Austin Norris … (sophomore end) J.W. Jones continues to flash, and that's good to see him grow up. Then you have (senior tackles) Eric Jackson and Marseth Andry, and I'm missing guys. Just a good group of guys up there."
In a high-powered offensive conference like the Southland, Terrell plays a key role as a disruptor on defense.
