7: Lamar Raynard, QB (Sr.) — North Carolina A&T
Raynard has yet to lose a game he has started in an NC A&T jersey. He'll go down as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in MEAC history and enters 2018 with a 26-0 record.
He came back strong in 2017 after his 2016 season ended early with an injury. The Aggies won the conference title and Celebration Bowl as Raynard was named the MEAC Player of the Year. He ranked sixth in the FCS with a 161.7 passing efficiency and seventh with 8.94 yards per pass attempt. Raynard finished 2017 with 2,932 yards passing, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions while adding another four scores on the ground.
Raynard is within striking distance of several NC A&T career records and needs these numbers:
- 1,942 yards passing
- 195 completions
- 2,590 total offensive yards
- 12 touchdown passes
With his top weapon back in wide receiver Elijah Bell, the best No. 13 in the FCS, he has a great shot to reach those marks before he gives the NFL a shot. Raynard is currently ranked the 28th best prospect in the 2019 draft, the fourth highest out of FCS quarterbacks.
