The countdown to the 2018 college football season is on. Four FCS teams are in action Aug. 25 as Duquesne takes on UMass, Prairie View faces Rice and North Carolina A&T and Jacksonville State square off in ESPN’s FCS Kickoff.

49: Lorran Fonseca, senior kicker — Nicholls
Nicholls hit a home run last season by bringing in Fonseca from Contra Costa Community College. The kicker was named to six different All-American teams after setting the school record with 19 made field goals from 23 attempts.
He led the FCS with 1.58 made field goals per game and finished eighth with his 82.6 percentage. Fonseca also made 35-of-36 PATs and finished fourth in the FCS with 36 touchbacks. Along with the All-American awards, he was also awarded the team's Special Teams MVP and named to the All-Southland Conference Second Team.
Entering 2018, Fonseca is on HERO Sports' Preseason All-American Second Team. Below is a video of his game-winning 32-yard field goal against McNeese in a key conference win.
