37: Tevin McCaster, senior running back — Youngstown State
McCaster showed how special he could be in the 2016 playoffs as a sophomore. Thrust into a bigger role with the two senior feature backs on the sidelines, McCaster ran for 154 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries against Eastern Washington in a 40-38 semifinal win.
He took off as the No. 1 guy last year, totaling 1,066 yards and 13 touchdowns. McCaster was named a First Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection as he averaged 100.4 yards per game against conference opponents. He put the Valley on notice in the opener with a 183-yard performance against South Dakota State. And even though the Penguins missed the playoffs, McCaster lit it up in the final two games and combined for 339 yards and three touchdowns.
We're expecting a huge senior season for McCaster, naming the 5-foot-10, 195-pounder on our preseason All-American First Team. With the running back leading the charge, a bounce-back season is also expected for YSU.
