In the NFL you are only ever as good as your quarterback. It is the most important position in the game and it is one where having a good backup plan is wise. The Oakland Raiders found that out on Sunday – just as they did when their 2016 season fell apart – as starting quarterback Derek Carr was knocked out of the game in the third quarter by the tenacious and hard-hitting Denver Broncos defense.
The Raiders went on to lose this AFC West clash 16-10. It was a frustrating defeat as they were in with a shot of the win before Carr was replaced by E.J. Manuel. The status of Carr and his back though will be important to Raider Nation this week.
