That NFL squad? The New Orleans Saints, who have not had an impact player at tight end since Jimmy Graham was traded to the Seahawks.
South Dakota State tight end Dallas Goedert’s first formal meeting this week was with the Saints. … Everybody meets with everybody here, but notable that Goedert’s was Monday morning. A lot of guys hadn’t even checked in yet

Unfortunately for Goedert and the NFL scouts interested in him, his Senior Bowl week looks to be over with a hamstring injury.

Bummed to see South Dakota State TE Dallas Goedert go down early with a hamstring injury. Was one of my top players I was looking forward to seeing.
Scout on the field after practice asked what happened to him. Another responded "Hammy." He just muffled an f-bomb.

That doesn't mean he didn't impress early in his time on the field and can't continue to impress in the interviews.
Goedert, a 6-foot-5 tight end with tons of receiving ability, is solidly a top-5 tight end in the draft by just about any ranking you can find. He's the second tight end on NFL Draft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah's top 50 rankings, and is a first rounder in some mock drafts..

Dallas Goedert said he was recruited more for basketball than football coming out of high school. Said football is his first love so he gave up basketball.
